Helping Our Students Own Their Faith
We partner with parents to make disciples of the next generation. In our Student Ministry, we help our middle schoolers and high schoolers to own their faith, teaching them to know what they believe and to put those beliefs into action. We do this by focusing on three main areas: God, identity, and purpose.
OUR STUDENTS FOCUS ON THREE MAIN THINGS

Be with Jesus
Having our identity rooted in Jesus through daily abiding with Him.

Be Like Jesus
Growing in biblical knowledge and understanding and allowing that to shape and inform our relationships and communities.
Do What Jesus Did
Serving our city and our church with our time and talents and fulfilling the biblical mandate to love others and make disciples.
UNITE & HUDDLE GROUPS
Wednesdays: 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm
UNITE is our weekly ministry for middle schoolers and high schoolers
Our 6th – 12th graders gather weekly for UNITE to worship the Lord through teaching and community. The large group gathering is a lively time filled with games, fun challenges, videos, music and gospel-centered teaching from the Bible. Age and gender-based small groups meet after the large group time to discuss life, the teaching and curriculum.
Huddles are our primary method of formal discipleship in the student ministry. They are small groups divided by grade and gender and aimed at providing a safe and familial community for our students to grow in their relationship with God. Each Huddle will also gather away from Citizens Church 2 — 3 times a semester to build rapport.

What is the Student Ministry at Citizens Church?

When and where does the Student Ministry meet?
We meet from 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm on Wednesdays at Citizens Church. During the summer (May - July), we meet at houses, parks, and the church, depending on the week. Our summer schedule will be posted in April.
What can my student expect during Unite on Wednesday evenings?
Unite includes a mix of worship, relevant teaching, small group discussions, and fun activities. We aim to create a positive and engaging experience for every student.
I'm a parent/guardian, how can I help?
As a parent, you play the most important role in your student’s discipleship journey—and we want to partner with you in that process. Each week, we’ll send you helpful resources and updates to support your student’s spiritual growth at home.
We also invite you to get involved with Unite! Whether you’re passionate about discipleship, great at making people feel welcome, or simply willing to show up and serve, there’s a place for you. We’d love to connect and help you find the right fit! Click to email our team about serving.

What is your safety protocol?
We require all of our volunteers working with students to pass a regular background check and to complete a MinistrySafe training to ensure we do everything we can to keep our children protected and safe.
Students with Disabilities
ABLE Students is designed for students with disabilities in 6 -12 grade. The ABLE Students class meets during the 9AM service in Conference Room B. This is a time for age-
appropriate discipleship for our students with disabilities on Sunday morning! Volunteers are not assigned to be a buddy in the ABLE Students class; everyone hangs out together!
Our hope is to create a buddy system for Wednesday nights at UNITE for our students with disabilities.
Please reach out to Rachel Martinez if you would be interested in serving weekly as a buddy at UNITE.
