Global Missions

To go and make disciples in nations where the gospel is not known by raising up culturally indigenous, self-sustaining churches that multiply.

Who do we want to reach?

Our primary focus in Global Missions is to share the love of Jesus with the unengaged and unreached people groups that reside in the 10/40 window where the majority of unreached people groups in the world reside. An unreached people group is a group of people that either have no effective minister of the Gospel present or the number of people who follow Jesus equates to less than 2% of the population.

How do we want to reach them?

Our approach to making disciples in every nation is twofold. We want to raise up and train our members to go and be the hands and feet of Jesus in other countries and we also want to partner with and support those who are already overseas doing the work.

How can you be a part?

Whether you want to go or you want to support those who are going, we have several ways to get involved, with varying degrees of commitment. Our Mission of God class, Living on Mission groups, Mission Trips and Advocacy Teams all exist to equip you to be a part of making disciples in every nation.

Ways to Get Involved

Mission of God Class

Fall: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
The Mission of God class is a 10-week class that lays the foundational truth for God’s mission to glorify His name, push back darkness and reach the nations. Through education, application and Bible study you will discover God’s great mission to redeem people from every tribe, tongue and nation.

Living on Mission

Spring: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm
These 10-week disciple-making groups are for anyone who wants to learn how to share their faith in their community, workplace, or in cross-cultural contexts. The group develops hands-on training on how to make disciples of Jesus Christ. If you are interested in exploring global missions, we'd love to connect with you.

Mission Trips

Spring & Summer
Our short-term trips deploy our people to be a connection point for long-term partners in areas of the world with limited access to the gospel. The trips are typically 8 to 12 days in the spring or summer. These trips are also designed to develop our people in areas of prayer, service, unity and evangelism. Advocacy Teams

Teams that Support Missionaries
Missional work abroad can be isolating. it is the responsibility of the local church to help carry the burden that our overseas workers bear. Our Advocacy Teams are groups of 6-10 members who care for a missional worker. They regularly communicate and periodically meet with their missional worker. Additionally, these members will commit to praying for and supporting the needs of these workers and the people group(s) they serve.

Meet Our Team

Chad Lawson

Sending Minister
My hope for Citizens Church is that we would be transformed by the teaching of God’s Word and in response to His goodness we would be equipped and sent out to go and make disciples both in our community and in the nations to places where the Gospel is not known. Get to know Chad >

Payton Gillespie

Associate Sending Minister
My hope for Citizens Church is for unification among the body as they continue to grow in their biblical understanding of who God is, how that affects how they love people and that they would be able to practically live in a countercultural way. Get to know Payton >
